Kishori Mohan Konwar, PhD
Kishori is a Computational Biologist at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He has designed and programmed several software tools to process large volume genomic data. His professional career includes doing quantitative risk management at KPMG LLP, New York City, and working at Goldman Sachs, New York in quantitative risk modeling where he used high-performance computing techniques to assess enterprise-wide market risk. Dr. Kishori has earned MS in Statistics and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut in distributed computing & designing algorithms for large-scale systems. He also holds a Master of Technology (MTech) in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute and a Masters in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
Kishori also did his postdoctoral research at University of British Columbia, Canada in meta genomics and bioinformatics
Aria Hahn, PhD
Aria is passionate about data and believes that combined with intelligent statistical and computational technologies, data hold the answers to many burgeoning questions facing multiple industries today. Aria holds a PhD in metagenomics from University of British Columbia, Canada, and is the CEO and Co-Founder of Koonkie Inc., a profitable service company focused on solving problems using DNA and Big Data. She also serves as the technical lead for two large-scale public projects, GutCyc.org, a large collection of publicly available, searchable gut microbiome data, and EngCyc, an emerging project focused on comparing microbes around the world.
Santiago Paiva
Santiago works on Big Data at Morgan Stanley. He has stints in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Cambridge, United States. Santiago has been involved in the Montreal, Canada, startup community and he has contributed to multiple research projects at both McGill University and MIT. He is also one of the top 50 influencers in Montreal, ranked by Vanier College.

Santonu Goswami is a Geospatial Data Scientist based in Hyderabad, India. Santonu holds a PhD. from the University of Texas at El Paso, TX, the USA in smart sensing of environment & data analytics. Sayantan Datta, PhD.
Sayantan had his Master's Degree from IIT, Benaras, and holds a Ph.D. in Human Genetics from Indian Statistical Institute ( ISI), Kolkata, India. Currently, he is working as a Research Faculty at John Hopkins University, Baltimore, the USA as a Research Faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology. He is Skilled in Genetics, Mitochondrial biology, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Data Analysis, Autophagy, and Cell Biology.
Sushmita Mitra, PhD.
Sushmita Mitra is a full professor at the Machine Intelligence Unit (MIU), Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. From 1992 to 1994 she was in the RWTH, Aachen, Germany as a DAAD Fellow. She was a Visiting Professor in the Computer Science Departments of the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada; Meiji University, Japan; and Aalborg University Esbjerg, Denmark. Dr. Mitra received the National Talent Search Scholarship (1978-1983) from NCERT, India, the University Gold Medal in 1988, the IEEE TNN Outstanding Paper Award in 1994 for her pioneering work in neuro-fuzzy computing, the CIMPA-INRIA-UNESCO Fellowship in 1996, and Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Fellowship in 2018 2020. She was the INAE Chair Professor during 2018-2020. Dr. Mitra has been awarded the prestigious J. C. Bose National Fellowship, 2021. She has been ranked 935 among the top 2% (of 2,15,114) scientists worldwide by Stanford List in the domain "Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing".
Losiana Nayak, PhD
Losiana holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of Kolkata in collaboration with the Indian Statistical Institute(ISI), Kolkata, 2008-2013. She was a UGC Post Doctoral Fellow at Machine Intelligence Unit, ISI, Kolkata. Granted a Membership. (membership no. 93621635) by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Granted a Full Membership (membership no.7034) by the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), from 2018

Dr. Milap Shah is a Consultant Histopathologist with specialized interest in Oncopathology-Cancer Diagnosis in Soild tumour and pathology related to Liver diseases and transplant pathology. He is currently heading Histopathology department of one of the largest tertiary care hospital groups in India Yashoda Hospital He has been trained from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has a more than 10 years of experience in a High volume centre in Diagnostic Immunohistochemisytry as well as in Theranostics in identifying targetable molecule like PDL-1, EGFR, ALK, ROS, Her2 etc in various cancers. Mr. Saumitra Buragohain
Saumitra Buragohain is Founder/CEO of Borde, an Al startup from San Francisco Bay Area and funded by reputed Techstars. Prior to Borde, ‘Saumitra was a Vice President, Products, Hortonworks Data Platform at Cloudera, a Big Data pioneer and led major product launches/initiatives (HDP 3.0, DataPlane 1.0, Hybrid Cloud, Kubernetes). Alum of then market leaders EMC and Brocade, Saumitra led major P&Ls and strategies. Saumitra also founded a startup (accepted into Alchemist) and headed Products at Skyera (acquired by Wester Digital). Saumitra has three granted patents, an MBA (SCU), an MS(USC).

Program Format
Live Interactive Lectures:
Live lectures will run each week on Saturdays for 3 months for one hour. All lectures are delivered live via a webcast and are fully interactive so that you get the chance to ask questions, seek clarification and interact with the lecturer to ensure you get the best learning experience. Prior to commencing each class, a URL will be emailed to each student so they can join the class easily. Lecture recordings are made available after each class, giving you the freedom to watch the lectures later at your convenience.
Capstone Project:
The Capstone project is a one-month intensive project, designed to train and prepare students to solve real-world industry data-science problems. Students can choose to work alone or in a group with their ECDS peers. They will be able to choose a project from a range of topics: recommendation systems to sentiment analysis, spam filtering to marketing data, and market prediction to sales forecasting. Students will get the opportunity to apply the experience, skills, and knowledge they’ve acquired throughout the ECDS program and create models to solve industry-oriented projects, with implementation and testing on actual real data.
